The lawyers of IC Avocats practise the regulated profession of Avocat (French barrister/solicitor) and are registered with the Paris Bar (Barreau de Paris), under the authority of the Paris Bar Association (Ordre des avocats de Paris).

The practice of the legal profession in France is governed in particular by Law No. 71-1130 of 31 December 1971, Decree No. 91-1197 of 27 November 1991, and the National Internal Rules (Règlement Intérieur National — RIN) of the legal profession.
